What a few weeks it's been walking dogs in and around Formby.
We've had some wild winds come in with storm Callum and we've witnessed the migration of the wild geese over our heads. The most evident place that we saw these birds was while walking the dogs across the Formby bypass over on the moss. If you were lucky enough to get there early in the morning you would have seen these magnificent birds laying in the farmers fields. The noise these birds made as they took off was deafening, but not sure the people living around them fields would have appreciated this. While I appreciated and enjoyed the spectacle, I was also very much aware of the type of dogs I was walking. GSP's, Labradors, spaniels, all working dogs, and while all well trained, all still have their natural instincts. Its so important that while walking dogs of this nature (or any dog really) that you have them under the correct level of control, especially in an area like Formby with its abundant wildlife. It really was a wonderful thing to witness. PS, if you can bag it, you can bin, it really is that simple.
